For the answer, lets try to see wat gave birth to the concept of society: the theory of ‘live and let live’. Its all based on a sense of compromise. We help others coz we expect others to do so too, some or the other time, even tho we may not realise it.
Fitness is of various types. Till the time we were uncivilised, it was only mental and physical. Now there are financial, social types. We dont go about eliminating the rare unfit coz we dont want to create a feeling of insecurity in others, towards ourselves.

I raised a similar point with the helmet article. Why are women exempted from wearing helmets?

But Kalyani its all about fighting for the right thing. I don’t support reservation and never will. But if there is some kind of reservation for me, I will not think twice before utilizing it. You’re right when you say that the motive of every person is to use society. Somebody’s loss is someone’s gain.

And in their hearts the OBC’s know its unfair to the general category.

Nobody is selfless. Everyone looks for an oppurtunity to make his/her life better and to raise their own standard of living. Its not the survival of the fittest. Its not live and let live. Its free-for-all. Take all you can, grab the oppurtunity when it comes. Keep quiet if the environment is conducive to you otherwise raise your voice. Its simply SURVIVAL!!
