So… Where is the Happiness?

This is the story of my family, probably yours too…

My mother; it seems that she told everyone “I will be very happy in life once I have a child”. Soon I was born… did she become happy? Then she said she would be happy if I grow into a healthy child… then she said she would be happy if I got admission to a good convent school… if I turned studious… if I got an admission to a college then if my career took …. After all these, she says she will become happy if I get married. Life has gone through one complete cycle and she is still postponing her happiness. If this happens… if that happens… what about the man of the house? My dad. While working it is work related stress. After coming home, it is either the stress of not having enough worthwhile things to do or the psychology of who respects me in this house? Nobody has the time for me. The stress of not being given enough attention. Here is my brother – besides studies, he is more distressed at India losing to England, Sania Mirza getting married, Priyanka working with Shahid, what is the latest mobile in the market…etc. And now comes my cute sister, she needs Activa not Scooty because her friend has it already. She doesn’t want to eat that… she doesn’t want to eat this, because she is gaining weight, so she is distresed.

And now finally comes my friend, who has drowned in a melancholy ever since a relationship fell apart. So, how to feel on the top of the world when you are surrounded by people who are in emotional abyss? We wish for a happy world, but our collective emotional maturity is far from it. Even the Buddhas, Prophets, Mahaveeras and Krishnas couldn’t succeed in creating a happy world. Well what to do then? We may not succeed in creating a life of eternal bliss for our loved ones but we can always create endless happy moments for them. So I resolve to create one happy moment for at least one person, everyday in my life. I wake up with a sense of purpose to create a happy moment for some one today and everyday.

To me, momentary happiness and moments of happiness are the easiest gifts I can give my loved ones. So I believe I gave you that moment of happiness as I took you towards a page of my life book.

Didn’t I? This could be yours too.

Ok I would loveeeeeeeeee to reply to this post. Great job Nabeel, I’m more than impressed and may be you are the first writer(male) who has impressed me in this particular topic. While saying all these, I’ll like to add, the happiest man in this world is the one who doesn’t search for happiness. He just says I’m happy. Gladly I don’t have mom & dad like you. My mom is the happiest havin me n my bro and my DAD is crazy about me. AM like his princess. But the happiness you are mentioning here is about achieving goals and saying I’m happy which isn’t actually happIness but satisfaction. There is a term – PEACE OF MIND…It is hard to find it and only people who try hard they find it but that also for hew minutes. The one who are happy they don’t need to say I’ll be happy because happIness my dear friend comes from inside comfort! ;-)

One look at the above picture should be enough to make anyone drool! Yes, it’s Nokia’s flagship “Multimedia Computer” N97 along with the HTC Touch Diamond2. I had the fortune of playing with both these sexy gadgets this month and I’d like to share some views.

But I really don’t give a fuck about what Vinod Kambli thinks of Sachin and the BCCI. I hardly care if a random person confesses to being unfaithful to his partner. I care about the people in this nation who are dying due to the draconian ways of Khap Panchayats. There are student leaders who [...]
